I researched 46 "LCD TV is available in several months, and all the places recommended the Samsung 550, so I bought it. I'm not a technical, so I'll just say this: the speakers on all Samsung is at the bottom of set, so unless you do not know how to connect to an external audio system, will all show good as you 're going through a jar with the lid closed. I sent back and got the Sony, which is a big improvement, speakers are on the front of the set where they belong. The image is strong, rich colors and beautiful, it is easy to navigate. This is a fantastic TV. Unlike Samsung, which is incredibly shiny and reflective, but Sony looks good in my living room. I love it!
